
Dr Sophie Jarvis is a Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Physician and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She is currently a Staff Specialist in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and has previously worked as a Staff Specialist in Respiratory Medicine at Sydney Children’s Hospital.
Sophie provides evidence-based care for children with a broad range of respiratory and sleep disorders. Her clinical interests include respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic cough, bronchiectasis and chronic lung disease of prematurity, as well as sleep disorders such as obstructive and central sleep apnoea, parasomnias and infant sleep disorders.
Alongside her clinical work, Sophie is passionate about medical education and is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and junior doctors. She is a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney and is committed to the development of the next generation of paediatric clinicians. She is also actively involved in clinical research in paediatric respiratory and sleep medicine, contributing to studies that aim to improve the care and outcomes of children with respiratory and sleep disorders.
