About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Woolcock Sleep Lab as a Casual Sleep Technician (Overnight). Shifts are available from Monday to Friday nights within an 11-bed unit, caring for both children and adults. The Sleep Technician will be engaged in the responsible for patient/participant care, setup, and performance of sleep studies in our cutting-edge sleep research facility. This includes the areas of high-density electroencephalography (EEG), obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and clinical trials.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • High quality patient/participant care and satisfaction
  • Patient/participant monitoring and quality sleep data acquisition for both research and clinical sleep studies
  • Patientparticipant record and identifiable information management
  • Good clinical practice and infection prevention and control
  • Effective operation and maintenance of sleep study equipment
  • Compliance with processes and protocols for clinical and research studies

About You

  • Patient/participant-focused
  • Knowledge of how to set up sleep studies
  • Demonstrated experience in patient/participant data acquisition and management
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Demonstrated ability to follow quality protocols
  • Current cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Valid working with children check (WWCC)

Desirable - Qualification/Skill?Certification

  • Degree in clinical/biological sciences (e.g., medical science), nursing or related
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification
  • Sleep equipment knowledge (PSG, CPAP, TcCO2)
  • Sleep software knowledge (Profusion PSG)
