Lung cancer crusader recognised

We’re delighted to congratulate Professor Matthew Peters, who has been recognised in the Lung Health Legend Awards 2023.

Professor Peters, who is Co-Chair of the Lung Cancer Research Network, has had a long-term interest in lung cancer research. The award recognises his dedicated commitment to making improvements in tobacco control and lung cancer and enriching the lives of those living with lung cancer and their families.

Professor Peters is Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Macquarie University Hospital and head of Respiratory Medicine at Concord Hospital. He holds academic appointments at Macquarie University and Sydney University and has had a long-term interest in lung cancer research.

The Lung Foundation Australia’s Lung Health Legend Awards recognise people who have contributed over a substantial period of time to advancing the Foundation’s mission and vision. Awardees are recognised as having made a positive impact on the lives of Australians living with lung disease or lung cancer.
