Dr Lily Daviskas is a Respiratory physiologist with a degree of master of Biomedical Engineering from the University of NSW and a PhD from the University of Sydney. She worked for over 40 years in the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital from which she retired in 2016. Since then, she has been an Honorary Associate at the Respiratory Group of the Woolcock Insititute of Medical Research. She has made an important contribution to the scientific knowledge of assessment and treatment of patients with mucociliary dysfunction such as asthma, bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis using osmotic stimuli. Inhalation of mannitol (Bronchitoltm) delivered as a dry powder in patients with cystic fibrosis is a registered treatment.

She is a current member of Australian and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science (ANZSRS) and International Society of Aerosols in Medicine (ISAM).
