About the Role

You will provide the technical oversight of sleep studies.  Working with sleep technicians, clinicians, research Leaders, and the clinic management, you'll be actively working towards better health outcomes for people every day.  You will ensure the right skills, equipment and protocols are in place to provide a quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide the technical supervision of clinical and research sleep studies from beginning to end
  • You'll be developing SOP's the team will love to follow in accordance to NATA standards
  • Manage sleep lab equipment and consumables.  Ensuring equipment is suitably calibrated and consumables in place to ensure quality operations.
  • Perform and supervise sleep tests (MSLT, MWT, manage Actigraphy requests) and scoring
  • Support safe practises and training

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary Degree in biological, medical or physical sciences
  • Current registration as Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
  • Higher level skills in operation of complex equipment
  • Proficient in Compumedics, Grael/Profusion/Nexus and/or Philips Alice 6/G3
  • At least three years experience in a laboratory conducting complex adult and paediatric sleep studies (MSLT, MWT, Overnight PSG)

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in obtaining or maintaining NATA accreditation
  • Experience in a research environment
  • Postgraduate training
