Communications Officer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Communications Officer to lead, manage and enhance the effectiveness of Woolcock’s communication and engagement with customers and community. The Communications Officer is responsible for utilising digital marketing and media platforms as a tool to execute communication initiatives and working collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team and other internal stakeholders.  

Key tasks

  • Source, edit, write and manage content for various digital channels
  • Manage the Woolcock website, including managing design and development briefs, ensuring the website is up to date and user friendly, and optimising SEO
  • Manage the development of email newsletters and updates, including editing templates, writing content, managing subscribers and reporting outcomes
  • Coordinate PR & Media activities and proactively identify opportunities to communicate Woolcock messages to external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate social media including planning and strategy and content creation to drive and grow our audience
  • Monitor, interpret and report on marketing results and provide advice based on this information to improve Woolcock communications 
  • Liaise with researchers to ensure patient recruitment for research studies is optimised
  • Work under the guidance of the Marketing and Communications Director to deliver on the communications plan for both external and internal stakeholders in line with the Woolcock’s strategic objectives.

What you bring

  • Degree in Communications or a related field
  • Strong verbal and written skills, including a proven ability to write engaging, creative and interesting content across various channels targeting a variety of audiences
  • Excellent research, analytical and conceptual skills to interpret and translate research-related information into effective communication pieces
  • Proven high-level skills in negotiation, persuasion and collaboration for working with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining and producing website content and project managing designers and developers
  • Experience in email marketing planning, strategy and content
  • Demonstrated experience in social media content planning, development and management, including targeted advertising (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc)
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in image and video editing, especially using Adobe suite
  • Advanced MS Office publishing experience
