Dr Rutting graduated with a PhD from the University of Newcastle in the field of immunology and microbiology. She has a research interest in airway physiology, chronic lung disease and early detection of lung disease following bone marrow transplantation. Her expertise includes complex measures of lung function, 3D ventilation imaging and molecular biology techniques.
Dr Rutting is an active member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and the American Thoracic Society and is a seminar coordinator and member of the research committee at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research.
