Are you a young person with Insomnia?
We are looking for high-school aged young people who suffer from Insomnia to participate in a study that evaluates the effectiveness of a Group Treatment Programme for Insomnia. This programme will help you to understand sleep and will give you techniques to manage your sleep better.
What does the Research Involve?
If you decide to participate you will be asked to attend an initial assessment with a psychologist to discuss your sleep and mood, and to determine whether the treatment programme is suitable for you.
Eligible young people are invited to take part in research study where you will be randomly allocated to either start the Insomnia treatment programme straight away, or start treatment after a 7 week wait period.
The treatment program involves attending 4 sessions over 7 weeks. Sessions are conducted in a group format with other people your age who are currently experiencing similar sleep difficulties.
To assess how effective treatment has been, we will examine changes in your sleep and mood after treatment (or the wait period), and again 3 months later.
